Conductor, organist and harpsichordist Hansjörg Albrecht, who last performed with the Munich Bach Orchestra in Regensburg in 2023, will be joined by a hand-picked ensemble of young soloists, the Klangverwaltung Chamber Choir and the Munich Bach Festival Ensemble (with members of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Munich's Gärtnerplatztheater) to perform four festive, large-scale cantatas from Bach's Leipzig cantata year 1725. The works were composed 300 years ago and were performed by Johann Sebastian Bach in Leipzig's main churches. They combine jubilant choirs and virtuoso arias with profound spirituality and, as a Bach Festival overture, provide Baroque splendour in the Historic Reichssaal in Regensburg's Old Town Hall.
Hansjörg Albrecht is Artistic Director of the CPE Bach Academy Hamburg, the CPE Bach Choir and the annual International Bach Festival Hamburg as well as one of the initiators of the Bach Festival Munich 2025.
