Conductor, organist and harpsichordist Hansjörg Albrecht performs four of the large-scale cantatas from Bach's Leipzig cantata year 1725 together with a hand-picked ensemble of soloists, the Klangverwaltung chamber choir and the Bachfest Ensemble. The works were composed 300 years ago for New Year, Whitsun, the 12th Sunday after Trinity and Christmas and were performed by Johann Sebastian Bach in Leipzig's main churches. They combine jubilant choruses and virtuoso arias with profound spirituality and provide Baroque splendour as a Bachfest overture in the Allerheiligen-Hofkirche of the Munich Residenz.
Details of the line-up will follow shortly.
Concert introduction at 18:30: One hour before the concert begins, Hansjörg Albrecht will open the door to Bach's grandiose cantatas in a personal way.
Albrecht is Artistic Director of the CPE Bach Academy Hamburg, the CPE Bach Choir and the annual International Bachfest Hamburg as well as one of the initiators of the Bach Festival Munich 2025.
