Kath. Kirchenstiftung Herz Jesu
The entire entrance front of the Herz-Jesu-Kirche (Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus) becomes an image of welcome thanks to the house-high doors that open onto the church square. The entrance portal, 14 metre high glass wings, with deep blue characters made of cross nails, which tell passages from the Passion of St John, was designed by Alexander Beleschenko. It is considered the largest church portal in the world and is opened on public holidays and as part of the Open Gates programme.
