In Ludwig Beck's shop window, Gregor Hildebrandt displays three black and white record columns, rhythmically arranged according to the keyboard, and a cassette box with a portrait of Glenn Gould as a tribute to Johann Sebastian Bach. Gregor Hildebrandt's installation is literally composed of processed sound carriers (cassette sleeves and vinyl LPs). As formalistic as the reduced works may seem, they are full of nostalgia, as the music – at least on these sound carriers – will never be able to be played again.
Hildebrandt himself composes the sound carriers into (chessboard) patterns and column elements, arousing curiosity about the hidden music.
