Initiated by Benedikt Haag, Artistic Director of the Munich Motet Choir, Maximilian Höcherl and Maruan Sakas arranged and composed "Barock in Blue" – a jazz arrangement of all six Bach motets. The work was premiered in 2018 and delighted Bach connoisseurs and jazz lovers alike.

The Münchner Motettenchor is one of the most renowned and traditional concert choirs in Munich. With performances in major concert halls, it is a permanent fixture in the city's musical life. Since its beginnings, it has also been closely associated with the Protestant Episcopal Church of St Matthew, where it performs at concerts and church services.
