Looking Forward, Looking Bach

What did Bach sound like yesterday, what does he sound like today?
Students of the University of Music and Theatre Munich bring Johann Sebastian Bach and the zither together.
14.11.2025, 20:00 – 21:30

Concert
University of Music and Theatre Munich – Location Luisenstraße
University of Music and Theatre Munich

During Bach's lifetime, the zither did not yet exist as a concert instrument, and yet the Bach suites played on the zither sound as if Bach had written them for the instrument.
In the concert by Tajda Krajnc's zither class at the University of Music and Theatre Munich (HMTM), Bach's suites are combined with contemporary improvisation and music of today. The interplay of classical music and contemporary improvisation enables a new perception of Bach's music and opens up space for curiosity and sonic discoveries. Experience Bach in a new way.
