Both Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Robert Schumann wrote piano accompaniments for Bach's Chaconne in D minor for solo violin. In his lecture, Prof. Stefan Rohringer explores the question of what the nature of these arrangements reveals about the two composers' understanding of Bach.
