The Evangelisch-Lutherische Dekanatsbezirk Munich covers an area roughly equivalent to the greater Munich area, in which around 200,000 Protestant church members live. The Dekanatsbezirk Munich comprises 62 parishes. It is the largest deanery district of the Bavarian state church, which has a total of around 2.1 million church members. The Protestant church in the Munich region has an extensive programme of events in the area of church music and also offers a wide range of church music for young people and adults.
