As part of the "Organ Marathon", Jukka Geisler will present works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Franz Liszt on the Steinmeyer organ in two short concerts at 3.00 pm and 4.00 pm.
Jukka Geisler, born in Munich in 2005, has already won several awards for his playing as a pianist and organist. He has won prizes at national and international competitions such as the London Organ Competition 2024 and has a busy concert schedule. One focus of his work is in areas where vocal and instrumental music are very close and influence each other, for example in oratorio or the vocally conceived music of the Renaissance. This goes hand in hand with a great interest in historically informed performance practice, which flows into his interpretations and work with his own ensembles. He is currently studying organ with Prof Dr Martin Sander at the HMTM Munich. Courses with internationally renowned lecturers such as Prof Christophe Mantoux (Paris), Maurizio Croci (Freiburg) and Prof Markus Bellheim (Munich) round off his training.
This event is part of the "Organ Marathon Bachfest Munich" series.

St. Johannes on Preysingplatz is also known as the "God's living room in Haidhausen". The doors of the church are wide open. Everyone is invited to linger, some light a candle and find words for a prayer. St John's is home to the entire spectrum of Christian spirituality. And last but not least, it gives musicians and choirs space to praise God and welcomes everyone.
