"Bach is the best at all sad things, but when Bach has joy, my God, you can hear it!" Ton Koopman's conviction is certainly shared by the musicians in this concert, who are very familiar with Koopman as a mentor and fellow musician. The fact that the use of historical instruments, historical performance practice in general, does not sound outdated, but on the contrary highly exciting, coherent, contemporary and rousing, is not least thanks to these artists: Anne Katharina Schreiber (baroque violin), Saskia Fikentscher (baroque flutes and oboes), Kristin von der Goltz (baroque violoncello) and Léon Berben (harpsichord). All of them have been active and successful in the field of early music for a long time.
