University of Music and Theatre Munich

The Madrigal Choir and a baroque orchestra from the Institute for Historical Performance at the University of Music and Theatre Munich (HMTM) bring Johann Sebastian Bach's "Matthäus-Passion" to the stage of the Isarphilharmonie. The solo parts will be performed by students from the vocal classes. Prof Martin Steidler, Professor of Choral Conducting and Artistic Director of the Madrigal Choir since 2008, will be conducting.

The performance of the "Matthäus-Passion" is one of the university's most important concerts in 2025 and an example of the interdisciplinary work between different classes and departments that is highly valued at HMTM.
