"Nur jedem das Seine" (BWV 163)

Cantata service for the German commemoration day "Volkstrauertag"
The Bach work – cynically connoted after the events of the Nazi era – opens up a framework of meaning beyond its time.

Church service, Diskussion, Guided Tour
Erlöserkirche München-Schwabing

The cantata "Nur jedem das Seine" (BWV 163) will be performed at the commemoration day service. It deals with the topic of debt, both monetary and religious. The question of the distribution of resources will be explored sociologically and theologically in the aesthetic field of the cantata and economically and politically in the subsequent panel discussion.

Musical Programme: Ensemble Diagonal, Choir of the Erlöserkirche, Direction: Christian Seidler

Following the service, the Erlöserkirche invites participants to join the musicians in conversation over a cup of coffee and a slice of cake from 11.00 am.
Philippa Sigl-Glöckner and Wolfgang M. Schmitt, among others, will speak about Protestant business ethics from 11.30 am.
